The secret to preshading is the careful application of the final coat(s), whether it be camouflage or otherwise. You need to spray several light coats, and closely look at the lines between the coats. It’s easy (trust me, I’ve done this) to overdo your final coat and make your preshading disappear. Also, the darker the final coat, the “blacker” the preshading should be.
